Adeena's Blood Test - Identifying the allergy

As promised before, here is my entry on Adeena's blood test.

Before we decide to get the blood test done, we also went to Dr. Wong Clinic in Tangkak which he applied kinesiology type of treatment. I did not really record on Adeena's progress with Dr. Wong as we went there for two times only. Hence, I don't have much information to share with you on the treatment.

Back to the blood test.

We were advised by Adeena's doctor to do the blood test so that we can control her foods and activities. The blood was taken at Johor Specialist Hospital. However, they did not run the test there. Adeena's blood specimen was sent to Johor Allergy Services and the result came in 2 weeks.

As you can see in the picture above, there are many colour bars which indicate the level of her allergy, and red colour indicate very high.

And these are my enemies rating :-
  1. Soy bean - High
  2. Cow's milk - Very high
  3. Egg white - Very high
  4. Egg yolk - Very high
  5. Shrimp - Moderate
  6. Wheat - Very high
  7. Peanut - Very high
  8. Farinea mite - Very high
  9. Pterony mite - Very high

The result came together with an advise on how we can control these allergies.

Cow's milk has been the very first allergen that we know Adeena could not tolerate even a bit. It surprised us that she is allergic to soy bean as well as this is the milk that she is consuming now. So we decided to give a try on hypo-allergenic based, from semi to extensive hydrolised milk. Unfortunately, it still gave same reaction like cow's milk. We asked the doctor on how it can possibly happen when they say these milks are the best alternative for a case like Adeena's. Well, the doctors are just human. We cannot rely 100% on the blood test result and their suggestion.

Adeena still consumes soy based milk (Insomil) since the reaction is not as bad as others milk. She does sometimes get her rashes and flu on and off.

According to the result, Adeena is not allergy to chicken. I once cooked her an organic chicken with olive oil and garlic. When I gave her a tiny pieces of the chicken, she gets so excited and kept saying delicious. I almost bust into tears. All this while she only eat rice and vegetables. And so I thought she is really not allergy to chicken, not after 2 hours. She started to scratched her body and tiny red bump appeared on her skin. It really broke my heart. Again, do not rely 100% on the blood test result.

I am still trying to find alternatives for Adeena to taste the foods that she cannot eat. There is an allergen-free food brand called Orgran which I do some try and error for Adeena. If I can gather much information on this trial, I will surely share with on future post.

Detox with Kinohimitsu Juice Plum

Recently I feel myself in lack of energy, easily get sleepy and stomach bloating. Not to forget that I'm a caffeine addict. I drink coffee everyday and at least a cup a day.

Thinking that I'm not living in a healthy lifestyle (since I stopped my gym session a month ago), I should start detoxing to get rid of the toxins that make my body feels  unenergetic.

So here I bought Kinohimitsu J'pan D'Tox Juice.  It says that help to eliminate the toxin inside our body. It was a 6 days challenge to ensure that the toxic in your body will go out naturally.

I started the detox program on Tuesday night. It says that to drink the juice 30 min after dinner.  It will takes around 2-4 hours to have a bowel movements.  That is why it is not advise to drink it during day time especially when you are in the office. You don't want to run to the toilet at your office and let other people hear you're making music while 'doing your business'. Hah!

From my experience, somehow this product help my body feel a lil bit lighter, my stomach does not feel bloating any more and more proper bowel movement.

Experience to Share

I should have shared to you the allergy test that Adeena had as I mentioned on my earlier post, but I must dig out the picture of the report released. To replace the post temporarily,  I would like to share to you my others experience of handling Adeena's health.

She had cough and flu for almost a week. At one time, she was coughing so badly until we think that it will lead to her respiratory problem which is asthma.

It happened when we were on our holiday in Ipoh. So we took her to the paediatrician there and the doc told us that her lung might got infected. Since we're far away from home, he gave Adeena few meds and antibiotic.

Pity adeena coz we have planned to go to Lost World of Tambun. We still went there and poor thing that Adeena, my husband and myself just sat in the restaurant. Better take precaution!

Back in JB, she still has the cough, but better than before. So I thought she is in the process of healing. Only yesterday, I noticed she started to sweating even the air conditioner is on. Decided to go to Johor Specialist,  Dr Alex (Paediatrician) told that her lung is getting better and only left phlegm. The reason why she is sweating even the air conditioner is on is because low of sugar level in her body.

Well, it explains a lot as Adeena lost her appetite since the day she was sick. Doc advised to drink something sweet for example Ribena. I just hope that she will recover soon. It hurts to watch your loved ones fall sick.

If people out there experiencing same situation (sweat when you sick), you could try to eat or drink something sweet like chocolate perhaps? For Adeena's case she is allergy to dairy so I have to opt out chocolate or anything that dairy based.

Dhia Adeena and CMPA

As I randomly post my updates here, and now my baby Adeena turns to 2 this year, I would like to share with my readers on how I dealt with Adeena's development.

Adeena was diagnosed with CMPA (Cow's milk protein allergy) since she was 4 months old. The symptoms that she had was having the never ending flu and running nose, also easily get rashes all over her body.

So when we met the doc for the third time in maybe 2 months, that is how we learnt that she can't tolerate at all with cow's milk infant formula and we have to switch to soy-based.

Perhaps for the next entry I shall share with the readers on how I dealt with CMPA baby.

At least, it would benefit the others.

Till then, see you again!
